Anticipated Residency Outline 

 

ANTICIPATED RESIDENCY OUTLINE

All times are subject to change; Should they change, clear announcements will be made in advance. 

 

Residency Rehearsals  

Location: Alvin Ailey Dance Theater 405 West 55th Street (& 9th Avenue) 

  • Magi Chorus Rehearsal 
    • SUNDAY, November 24, 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM  (9:30 AM Arrivals and Welcomes) 
    • MONDAY, November 25, 2:00 – 5:00 PM 
  • Please arrive at designated call time when our spaces will be open and ready for you, there is no need to be early. 
  • Please bring Water, Music, Your Badge (which indicates your seating location); VIP’s must wear their badges as well 
  • No food or beverages other than water in the rehearsal space.
  • VIPs are encouraged to explore NYC during the choir rehearsals; there may be limited space at the rehearsal location that needs to be used for the performers with only needed VIP chaperones if applicable. Additional information will be shared in lead up to the residency.

 

General DRESS Rehearsal  - Day of Show

LOCATION: Carnegie Hall Stage Door, 161 West 56th Street (Between 6th & 7th Avenues) 

  • Please arrive at the designated call time, with your badge for entry. There is no need to be early.  

Magi DRESS Chorus Rehearsal - Tuesday, November 26, 1:15 – 3:15 PM

  • Personal items (bags and coats) will be left in a room on the first floor, then you will be directed to your chorus holding rooms. Once thegeneral rehearsal is over, you will need to grab your belongings and you will need to exit the building to allow for the backstage space to be made available to other act choir.
  • VIPs will be escorted directly into the house. They will go to the back of the orchestra level to watch the rehearsal. Photos are allowed, NO VIDEOS as per Carnegie Hall. 
  •  Please bring Music, Badge, Water (Small Snacks if needed)
  • Personal items can be left in the choir rooms, or in the case of the Magi Chorus in the first floor Personal Items room, used by only our choirs, but please know that Carnegie Hall does not have security in our rooms. 
  • Coat racks, restrooms, and water available in or near your backstage room. 

Best practice to come to the rehearsal dressed for the concert, please have comfy shoes (you will be standing for a while and walking lots of stairs). 

  • Changing clothes backstage is not possible; there is not enough room to change in the choir rooms. 
  • Please do not wander around the backstage areas, stay in your choir rooms until called to the stage.  
  • If you need anything during the rehearsal, raise your hand. DCINY personnel will help you out. 
  • If you have your phone handy, you may take photos on stage but please put them away as soon as rehearsal begins, NO VIDEOS PLEASE. 
  • If you are feeling faint, please bend your knees and, if needed, sit on the risers. 
  • If you need to leave the stage for any reason, please exit stage right.  

 

CONCERT  

Magi Chorus Call Time: Tuesday, November 26, 7:10 PM You will not be able to enter before this time 

  • VIPs should enter the front of house, on 57th Street, for concert. The doors open at 6:00 PM. 
  • Directors, whether on stage or in the audience, will participate in the curtain call at the conclusion of each act. 
  • Playbill concert programs which include the names of all performers will be available in each holding area at the end of each act and to all audience members. 
  • Pending ticket availability, those in the Holiday Music Act will be escorted to the house to watch the remainder of the performance. Act 2, the Magi Act, performers will remain backstage during Act 1. 
  • DCINY has arranged for a professional photographer to capture the performance. A link to an online photo gallery will be sent to all Performers and VIPs to the email provided to DCINY by your director approximately 7-10 days after the performance. If you do not receive the link to this gallery, please contact your director.  
  • Please plan on meeting friends and family in front of Carnegie Hall or a pre-determined location after the concert, not by the Stage Door which can become congested very quickly.  

 

As of 10/23/2024, the post-concert reception is at capacity. We can no longer accept any more registrations. Please speak with your DCINY representative immediately about any waiting list options or if you have any issues regarding this situation.
